Boston Common Asset Management Commends Portfolio Companies on Board Diversity

Boston Common Asset Management promotes gender diversity on boards globally through its proxy voting guidelines and shareholder engagement activities.

We are members of The Thirty Percent Coalition, a national organization of over 60 organizations including investors, corporations, and women’s advocacy groups committed to the goal of women holding 30% of board seats across US public companies by the end of 2015.  We commend our portfolio holdings including Biogen, Colgate-Palmolive Company, Cummins Inc. Cytec Industries, Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Visa, Walt Disney and WGL Holdings for being the recipients of the 2020 Women on Boards “W” Certificates.  Winning “W” Companies is the 2020 campaign’s designation for companies that have 20% or more of their board seats held by women. Forty five more companies are on this year’s “W” list than last year and 256 companies were named to this year’s Honor Roll for being on the “W” list for 3 consecutive years   2020 Women on Boards is a national education and advocacy campaign to increase the percentage of women on U.S. corporate boards to 20% or greater by 2020.
